WELCOME

It’s wonderful to have you here.

Teaching meditation developed through my own lived experience of the numerous benefits that are cultivated physically, mentally and emotionally when practising consistently.

The pace at which we live our lives has become increasingly rapid and demanding. Meditation can act as a circuit breaker within all the noise and busyness. Practising provides an opportunity to ‘unplug’, attune, recalibrate and generate restoration.

To me, meditation is a courageous process of turning toward ourselves with a lens of openness, compassion and curiosity. From a place of increased self-compassion and awareness, we learn to work with ourselves, rather than against. A process that opens up new potential and possibilities in the way we experience and live our lives.

AWARENESS INSIGHT MEDITATION

Awareness Insight Meditation (AIM) is an open monitoring style of meditation with influences from Eastern traditions. It is non-dogmatic in its approach and reveals and explains meditation as a process rather than a technique.

Within an open monitoring style, focus is not placed on a singular anchor point such as the breath or mantra. Rather, it is a process in which we observe whatever arises in our awareness - thoughts, and sensation (feelings, emotions, energy), along with any environmental stimuli such as the sounds around us.

Our experience of life itself becomes the material that we navigate with increased awareness. Through this gentle practice of observation, allowing and surrender to what is, we learn to move through our lives with more presence, ease and agency.

LEARN TO MEDITATE

Awareness Insight Meditation is taught over a cumulative 3-part foundational course. This course equips you with a comprehensive understanding of meditation, along with the tools and knowledge to cultivate a self-sufficient daily practice, or deepen an existing practice.

Throughout this course we explore...

THE FOUNDATION OF MEDITATION

  • The cultivation & layers of awareness

  • How to practice & when to practice

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF MEDITATION

  • The mind-body connection & how meditation works

  • Unpacking our human nature & barriers to meditating consistently

MEDITATION AS A PROCESS

  • The basic neuroscience of meditation

  • Integration, application & self compassion

It is through consistency that we truly reap the benefits of a meditation practice. The daily commitment to show up for ourselves with an intention of presence, openness and acceptance, sets the foundation for an incredibly important relationship; the relationship that you have with yourself.

What you put into your practice - your intention and your commitment - will come back to you tenfold. The only catch? You’ve got to meditate.

This comprehensive course equips you with the tools, knowledge and support to become a consistent and self-sufficient meditator.

YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING UPON COMPLETION OF THE COURSE

  • Ongoing support from myself as your teacher

  • Regular opportunities to practice in-person & online with other Awareness Insight meditators

  • Access to the wider online AIM community

  • A list of reading that will supplement your practice

WONDERINGS

I don’t think I can clear my thoughts or settle my busy mind enough to meditate.

You are certainly not alone with this.

One of the most common misconceptions with meditation is that we need to clear our mind of all thoughts in order to meditate ‘successfully’. Meditation enables us to practice observing the material of our minds with a gentle openness and curiosity, naturally encouraging thoughts to pass. This is a process and a practice that you are guided and supported in throughout the course & beyond.

Are there any rules or parameters within Awareness Insight Meditation?

AIM is non-dogmatic in its approach. The foundational course supports a twice daily, open monitoring meditation practice. You are encouraged to sit comfortably with back support as you practice.

Tell me more about ongoing access to the course in the future…

A self-sufficient meditation practice is something that we carry with us for life. As you move through life you may find it helpful to revisit the course material afresh or down the track with more lived experience as a meditator. Naturally we change and grow over time, hence why resitting is always an option to you free of charge.

What support is available to me upon completing the course?

You will have my contact details should you have any questions. There will be regular opportunities to practice both in-person & online with other Awareness Insight meditators. You will also be invited to join the wider online AIM community, an additional space to connect with other meditators and teachers.

A reading list is supplied along with important reminders and tips that will support you in your practice.
